Data backup - Backup
HAM Office knows different types of data backup , which can be called up via the main menu "Extras - Data backup - Backup".
- Full backup (all data and settings files)
- all log files (logs and statistics as well as settings files)
- individual files
- Autobackup
On the second page of the backup wizard, you can select the backup directory and specify whether the data backup should be packed (uses less space on the hard drive) and whether older backups should be deleted (also creates space on the Hard disk).
Special settings can be saved for each type of data backup:
- Directory
- Pack/delete last backups (see above)
-
Time control: This function is very important if you want to avoid data loss. You can set here when the program should automatically call up the data backup function. If, for example, you set "always propose at the first program call of the month", the data backup will report at this point in time when the program starts. This can then be carried out or postponed until later. Sensible settings for the data backup would be e.g .: full backup (quarterly), all log files (monthly), current log (weekly), autobackup (daily).
With the " individual files " backup type, you can select which files or file groups are to be backed up.
With the data backup type " Autobackup " you can set that a new subdirectory should be created for every weekday. This setting is recommended because there is no risk that working backup files will be overwritten by defective files.
